Trinity Oaks student council members are responsible for planning social events and service opportunities for the junior high student body. Students campaign during the spring for positions of president, vice president, and secretary/treasurer. Speeches are given, elections held, and the winners are announced. Student Council members learn the fundamentals of problem-solving, management, and project planning. With the guidance of a faculty member, they are challenged to set an example of Christian commitment for the entire student body.
Student Council plans several school-wide events, developing within these emerging leaders a sense of responsibility and ownership for the school community. As they serve their fellow students, they gain experience managing multi-faceted projects and hone the leadership skills they will need to thrive in a challenging high school career. Some of the types of events that our students will plan are: new students meeting, after school game events, corn maze outings, and lock-ins. More importantly, students are given opportunity to serve the community by participating in Operation Christmas Child, Salvation Army, Tri-County Pregnancy Center, and Feed My Starving Children.
