Band

The band program at TOCA is open to students in 5th – 12th grades and consists of woodwinds, brass, and percussion instruments. The primary objective is to expose students to appropriate major works of the wind band repertoire while developing musical intellect, skill, and expression in an ensemble setting. In band, students will be able to demonstrate a progressive ability to perform on an instrument with accuracy and artistry. Each individual will also demonstrate an understanding of written musical notation. Most importantly, band students will discover joy and satisfaction in the process of collective music-making that points them to the Creator of all things beautiful.

Orchestra

Trinity Oaks offers a string orchestra program in which students entering grades four through twelve may choose to play violin, viola, or cello. Orchestra members participate in weekly rehearsals before school and ability-based sectionals during the school day. Along with learning the techniques required to play a string instrument, orchestra members also grow in the music theory skills necessary to develop into successful musicians. In addition to nurturing musicianship, the string orchestra program provides the opportunity for students to develop discipline, improve concentration, increase dexterity, express emotions, boost self-esteem, build relationships, foster teamwork, advance academics, and worship God. The highest goal of the program is to cultivate musicians who use their musical gifts to glorify the Lord.
