Expected Student Learning Outcomes

 

 

Spiritual Formation

  • Are committed to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and ongoing spiritual formation that is firmly rooted in knowing, understanding, and applying God's Word to all areas of life.
  • Demonstrate a growing personal relationship with Christ and actively cultivates spiritual disciplines such as: devotions, prayer, personal Bible study, Scripture memorization, commitment to a local church, evangelism, and service to others.
  • Recognize and act upon their responsibility to be good stewards of their God-given resources such as talents, abilities, physical bodies, health, and spiritual gifts. 

 


Christian Worldview Formation

  • Can articulate and defend a Christian worldview while having a basic understanding of opposing worldviews.
  • Have an understanding of the key biblical themes of creation, fall, redemption, and consummation and how these inform their understanding of the history, fine arts, and literature of humankind. 

 

 

Academic Formation

  • Are well-prepared in all academic disciplines (reading, writing, speaking, listening, math, science, social studies, Bible, languages, technology, and the arts).
    • Have the creative and critical thinking skills to question, solve problems, and make wise decisions based on biblical truths and principles.
    • Are adept at locating information in both print resources and information technologies, analyzing information by evaluating both the credibility of sources as well as the content.
    • Can communicate ideas and information skillfully, clearly and persuasively in both oral and written formats. 

 

 


Social Formation

  • Possess a significant understanding of other cultures and a global and missionary vision of the Church.
  • Recognize and value the diversity of humankind and understand that every human being has been created with infinite value and worth in the image of God for a specific purpose and plan.
  • Relate appropriately to the people with whom they work, play, and live. 

 

 

Life Skills Formation

  • Have developed a foundational dedication to life-long learning and are prepared for the next life stage intellectually, spiritually, physically, socially, and emotionally.
