Student Council
Student Council positions are elected by their peers. Through the student council, student activities are planned, including social gatherings and service opportunities. Students may also bring concerns or requests pertaining to school life to the faculty and administration through the student council.
Mission Statement
The mission of the High School Student Council at TOCA is to assist in fostering a positive Christ-honoring tone within the student body using the Biblical model of “love the Lord your God with all your heart,” and “love your neighbor as yourself,” to develop a student community of God first, others second, self third.
Purpose Statement
The Student Council at TOCA exists:
- To provide an opportunity for student leadership abilities to be identified, developed, and utilized.
- For students to participate in the democratic process and to understand each individual’s privilege and responsibility.
- To provide an organized vehicle for the student body to influence and help shape the TOCA community.
- To provide an accountable group of student leaders for the purpose of creating an atmosphere where students can build community through student activities, social events, and outreach opportunities.
General Responsibilities:
- Members meet with the Student Council Advisor weekly during lunch.
- Plan and execute social activities and events for students in grades 9-12.
- Regular and effective communication to students in grades 9-12 regarding Student Council business and activities.
Positions: President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer, 9th and 10th grade Class Representatives.
